Tigers host Reading FairTigers host Reading Fair

On April 12 the Oak Park Tigers hosted their annual Reading Fair. Groups of students created a project board about books they read. The boards were on display throughout the hall ways of Oak Park. Each of the boards included District 131 focus standards for reading in some way. Parents, community members, and district staff were invited to attend, read to students, and vote for their favorite project board. Among the many guest readers were Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Norrell, Board of Education President Ms. Annette Johnson, and Vice President Alex Arroyo. And for even more fun, Oak Park had a special visit from service dogs! Students had the opportunity to read to the service dogs and pose for pictures. The winning project boards will go on display at the Aurora Public Library. What a tremendously wonderful day at Oak Park!
