New Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer Program (P-EBT) benefitsnuevos beneficios del Programa de Transferencia Electrónica de Beneficios Pandémicos (P-EBT)

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The State of Illinois is approved to provide new Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer Program (P-EBT) benefits to all eligible Illinois students. Families in East Aurora School District 131 qualify for P-EBT because our district participates in the National School Lunch Program’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). You do not need to complete an application to receive these benefits, and citizenship status does not affect eligibility.

What is P-EBT? P-EBT provides food assistance to families with students who would have otherwise received free or reduced lunch while attending school but are not receiving these meals in school due to COVID-19 restrictions.

What action needs to be taken now? At this time, it is very important to ensure that the mailing address on file at your child’s school is current. A complete mailing address will be needed to receive the P-EBT issuance in the near future.

When will I receive the benefits?  The Department of Human Services should begin issuing new P-EBT cards to all known eligible students in March of 2021. All eligible students will receive benefits for all qualified school days, starting with the beginning of this school year.

If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact the Department of Human Services at 1-800-843-6154. If you need to update your current mailing address, please reach out to your student’s school directly.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ann C. Williams, SFO

P-EBT letter to parents 2-19-21

Sinceramente,

Dra. Ann C. Williams, SFO
Directora de Finanzas/CSBO
