Fourth grade recently read the book, Balloons Over Broadway. Working in pairs, the students were challenged to come up with a plan (research a book/movie character), compile a list of needed materials, and then sketch it out on paper. They put this plan into action by constructing their balloon floats, making sure to follow specific guidelines such as using a minimum of 4 materials, etc.  The students paraded around the school with their fantastic balloons.
